2024-2027 Human Trafficking for Nurses Webinar

This workshop will discuss the prevalence of human trafficking in the USA and Florida. The presenters will address current trends and issues in the global trafficking situation. This health professions-focused session will describe the health risks and consequences of trafficking. Participants will understand the role of nursing professionals can play in identifying and rescuing the victims. They will recognize the signs indicating that a patient may be a potential victim. Concrete steps to take if the patient is suspected of being a human trafficking victim will be reviewed. Trauma-informed care approaches to this population will be discussed. Principles of self-care for health providers will also be introduced.
